Our Story

Rooted in Tradition

Our Story

Red Barn Tradition was built from a love of traditional craftsmanship, simple ingredients, and the belief that useful things are worth making well.

Where It Began

From Lemongrove Spice Co. to Red Barn Tradition

Every handcrafted product has a story. Ours began years before Red Barn Tradition had a name.

I'm Stephanie. My interest in traditional skincare started with a soapmaking book, simple ingredients, and a first experiment with cold-process soap in my kitchen. Once I made a successful batch, I fell in love with the process — and with creating something useful with my own hands. Encouraged by family and friends, I started Lemongrove Spice Co. and began making small batches of soap.

The journey wasn't always easy. Financial setbacks and life's responsibilities eventually led me to close that business. Later, I enlisted in the United States Navy. While serving, I often thought about the joy of making soap. A conversation in 2018, while I was overseas, reminded me how much I missed it and helped rekindle that dream.

“The dream never really disappeared. It simply waited for the right season to begin again.”

Red Barn Tradition

A New Chapter

Red Barn Tradition grew from that renewed sense of purpose. Together, Randy and I are building a business rooted in the values that inspired me from the beginning: careful craftsmanship, thoughtfully chosen ingredients, and an appreciation for tradition.

Today, we make tallow-based soaps, balms, and other skin goods in small batches. Our goal is straightforward: to make products with care and be clear about what goes into them.

Our Values

What We Believe

Quality Over Quantity

We believe careful work matters more than simply making more.

Simple Ingredients

Thoughtfully chosen ingredients are at the heart of what we make.

Small-Batch Craft

Traditional methods allow us to give each batch the attention it deserves.

Those principles guide every bar of soap and jar of balm we offer. Thank you for being part of our journey. We're grateful you're here.
